Plug ethernet cable into computer error. On troubleshooting it s says that an ethernet cable is broken or not plugged in properly and is unable to fix the problem as obviously i am not connected via any cable. It is a pretty ridiculous problem so i am glad i could save someone the time of troubleshooting their computer over something so simple. Urgent help would be greatly appreciated. If that doesn t fix it plug the cable into another port on the router.
Wifi works fine with phones ipods ipads and another laptop that was also updated to windows 10 a desktop still using windows 8. Instead of buying a new one outright plug the same cable into a different computer or temporarily swap out the ethernet cable for a known good one. Plug in ethernet causes computer crash you are welcome i am happy to hear that my solution helped to fix your problem. The wifi will pick up just fine i would just rather have an ethernet connection.
Connect the cable and battery to your computer and turn it on. I looked in network and it says that the ethernet cable is unplugged and does not show any available networks. This port is usually on the back of a desktop computer or on the side of a laptop. If that fixes the problem you ve got a defective router.
If this procedure doesn t help try testing for a faulty cable. Usually there is a light that comes on when i plug my ethernet cable into my laptop but it won t trigger the light either. So my wifi connection will not work with my laptop unless directly connected to by the ethernet cable. If you are using a laptop remove its battery too.
Also unplug the ethernet cable. As long as you don t need all of your ports you can get by. But once i plug it into my laptop there is nothing. One end is connected to your computer and the other is connected to the main network device probably a router.
An ethernet port on a computer is accessible through the ethernet card on the motherboard. Wait for good 15 minutes. Now locate your ethernet connection and right click on it.
